"It is good for me that I have been afflicted, that I may learn your statues." Ps. 119:71

On my journey of pain from stomach spasms over a period of 13 years I have journaled with the Lord. Today I reread many of the scriptures that have been special to me and compiled a list of lessons the Lord has taught and still is teaching me. Here are some of them:

1. to be patient (Romans 12:12)
2. to persevere (1 Peter 5:10)
3. to depend on God (Isaiah 41:10)
4. to trust He won't give me more than I can handle (1 Cor. 10:13)
5. to be joyful through suffering (1 Thess. 5:16-18)
6. to be thankful for all blessings (1Sam. 12:24)
7. to draw near to God (James 4:8)

9. to trust in His leading (Prv. 3:5-6)
10.to pray for others who are suffering (Phil 2:4-5)
11.to trust in the Spirit's interceedings when I just can't pray (Rom. 8:26-28)
12.to praise God no matter what (Ps. 119:171-173)

15. to be joyful as my faith is tested (James 1:2-3)
16. to cry out to God (Ps. 4:1)
17. to ask for healing (Matt. 7:7-8)
18. to know God will meet my needs (Phil 4:19)
19. to know God's peace (Is. 26:3)
20.to be content (Heb. 13:5)
21.to go to God each morning (Ps. 5:3)
22.to give God my suffering (1 Peter 5:10)
23.to delight in God's promises (Ps. 119:143)
24.to cherish God's discipline (Heb. 12: 10-11)
25.to rest in His comfort & seek to comfort others (2 Cor. 1:3-4)
26.to wait on the Lord (Ps. 27:14)
27.to let His love quiet me (Zeph. 3:17)
28.to always pray (Eph. 6:18)
29.to stop worrying (Matt. 6:25 & 33)
