The second sermon in this series was even more convicting and challenging than the first. He threw out the question: "Why are you working?" then followed it with four Biblical answers to that poignant question.
1) Work to provide the necessities of life
2) Work to fulfill one's calling from the Lord
3) Work to minister to others
4) Work to secure the ability to enjoy life with those you love
There was more "meat" in the message but the ending was where my thoughts settled.
He concluded the day's lesson with 7 practical applications that hit home to me and I hope they will for you.
1. Remember that you are called and created for a purpose.
2. Therefore view work as a ministry.
3. Fight to keep Godly priorities in order: God, family, then work.
4. Unplug occasionally-feel free to "go dark" once in a while.
5. Remember why you are working (referring to the list above).
6. Take vacations/breaks.
7. Simplify your life-cut the clutter.
